Nigeria signed up to the OGP process in July 2016 as the 70th member country and has since developed her National Action Plan. The Global OGP week holds annually from 7th to 11th May 2018 and is dedicated to sensitizing citizens of the ideals of the OGP as well as creating a robust platform for government and citizens to interact on the implementation of the partnership and progress made on the commitments.
As part of the week-long activities in Nigeria, SERDEC commemorate with other member organisation of the open alliance at the National Stewardship Accountability Forum convened by the African Centre for Leadership, Strategy & Development (Centre LSD). The forum provided avenue for CSOs to engage policy makers and duty bearers to render stewardship on the work they are doing around the 14 commitments of Nigeria’s National Action Plan on the Open Government Partnership and to make demands on how they are making the governance process open, transparent and accountable
